About TMP & The Founder

Founded in 2022 by certified personal trainer and mental health advocate, Daisy Fernandez, TMP was created to bring awareness to the importance of taking care of your mental health and provide resources for those struggling or affected by mental illness.

Did you know?
1 in 5 Americans will experience a mental illness in a given year. 1 in 5 children, either currently or at some point during their life, have had a seriously debilitating mental illness.
1 in 25 Americans lives with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression.
Despite the importance of mental health, many people do not prioritize it. Some may not be aware of the impact that mental health can have on their lives, while others may not know how to improve their mental health or may not have access to the resources that can help.
Additionally, stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues can prevent some people from seeking the help they need.
"Back in 2012, I was diagnosed with ADHD, depression, and severe anxiety. Not being properly educated on the diagnosis, I didn't have the right resources and didn't know what to do to get better. The only thing my doctor offered was prescription medication and I knew that I didn't want to rely on that for the rest of my life. I also thought about every single person in my life that may be struggling with this too. I then made it my mission to educate my friends and family on not only their physical well-being but the importance of taking care of their mental health.
During college, I got my personal training license and began working on ways to better my health, and little did I know that exercise would be just one way to help improve my mental health. I got inspired to create a movement that breaks the stigma on mental illness and brings awareness to things that we can do to make small changes to our emotional & overall well-being."
